Friday morning we had our first Easter egg hunt. My moms club does a hunt for the kids each year. We bring pot luck lunch items and 12 plastic filled eggs for each child that joins the egg hunt. We make sure to fill the eggs with non-food items (no candy!). This year I thought it would be fun to fill them with wild flower seeds. I found a great deal at Target and the entire bag of seeds was only $1! Emma and I filled 24 eggs and still had more than half the bag of seeds left over. I can't wait to see the beautiful flowers that will pop up in the next few weeks!
When we arrived at the park it was very cold! It even rained all the way to the park, but it stopped raining when we got there. The rain wasn't going to spoil our fun! The girls had cute outfits on underneath their rain coats!
Allison enjoyed watching all the bubbles come out of the bubble machine. She stood so close that the bubbles kept popping in her face. She had enough soap in her hair to give it a good washin'! There was even a machine that could make a bubble inside another bubble!
Let the egg hunting begin. Allison joins the hunt right away. She was well on her way to gathering her 12 eggs.
Emma made a bee-line for her eggs. They gathered their 24 eggs and stopped for a quick moment to give me some smiles. Then they were on their way over to the picnic blanket for some lunch. While eating with all their friends they enjoyed emptying their eggs to find the treasures inside.
Emma had time for one last trip down the slide before it's time to head home. By this point they were warmed up from running around that they shed the rain coats. Emma's bare toes (she insisted on wearing her blue and white flip flops instead of the blue Mary Janes with socks I set out for her to wear!) even warmed up. Then as we were getting ready to go, we got in the car to run a couple quick errands a light mist began to fall. Whew...we made it through egg hunt #1 without the rain putting a damper on our fun!
