Trick-or-Treat

Trick-or-treating at Grandma Judy and Papa Carl's house.

Posing for Halloween pictures.

The PB and J is off to trick-or-treat at Linda's house.

Taylor is on her way back so we can get ready to go see Darrian and Danielle at their house.

Danielle and Darrian were vampires.

A little bit of spooky mixed with a bit of beauty and yummy fun!

As we (Sydney, Camden and Lora joined us) started out on our trick-or-treating adventures we came across this little note. Good thing we came early on. I wonder how honest kids...and adults...were!?

Of course, our angels were perfectly fair and only took one piece each!

Down the street and around the corner Jeff's fire truck (he wasn't working though) stopped and handed out candy to the kids. So kind!

The kids ended the night with goodie bags overflowing with sugary sweets. They had so much fun, but were ready for bed. It was a long weekend!

Carving Time

That's a BIG pumpkin! The girls carried their pumpkins into the house Sunday morning after Jeff got home from work. It was time to carve pumpkins!

Jeff started by cutting the lids off...

...then the girls pulled the guts out. They weren't too sure about the texture of the inside of the pumpkin. Allison didn't last too long. I ended up taking all the insides out of hers.

Yuck!
Emma was OK with it and kept at it until it was totally cleaned out.

Look at all those seeds! Lots for roasting!

They were having so much fun together.

I even stepped out from behind my camera to help out a bit.

Emma was determined to make a detailed picture on her pumpkin. We started out with Swiper the Fox that we printed off the Internet, but gave that up for a more simple owl.

Her finished owl.

Jeff's pumpkin complete with a door and 2 windows.

Allison's silly-faced pumpkin.

Two silly faces!
She was so proud of her creation.

Now we're ready for Halloween to begin!

Downtown Halloween Parade

Each year, downtown hosts a Halloween parade and the merchants open their doors to all the children trick-or-treating. Emma was really looking forward to the parade this year because her jazz class was going to perform at the end of the parade route. She was especially excited about this because she was sick and missed school and dance on both Monday and Tuesday that week. She missed the fun Halloween dancing they did on those nights. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn't cooperated. The skies let loose about 12:30. It stopped about 15 minutes later, but by then they had decided to cancel the parade even though it wasn't raining at the start time :(. The kids did get to trick or treat though. They enjoyed doing that at least.

Trick-or-treating on the slick downtown streets with Camden, Danielle, Sydney, Hannah, Emma, Allison and Ben.

The Riddle Family (Danielle, Hannah and Ben) dressed to match...all had Alice and Wonderland costumes. They were so cute!

Allison trick-or-treated at Miss Millie's Learning Loft.

Grandma Sue and Grandpa Rex even drove to town to come watch the parade. Too bad they didn't get to see anything. They did get to see their cute girls all dressed up though.

We saw the girls' friend, Daniella trick-or-treating.

They posed for so many pictures that day! They were great about it too.

Jeff was working that day, but he came down to watch the parade. Well, as we know, it was cancelled, so we just stopped to chat for a minute and take a quick picture in front of the fire truck.

What's down there? I have no idea, but it was a funny picture to end the day!

Strawberry Pancakes Anyone?

Allison has always loved her food. This Saturday was no exception! She thoroughly enjoyed her pancakes with crushed strawberries and freshly whipped cream.

Lora's Halloween Magic

It was back to Emma's school to watch Lora's, or shall I say the Ice Witch from the North Pole's Halloween Science Magic. First stop, though, was Emma's classroom to check in on their Halloween festivities.

Allison helped her play BINGO before we headed out to watch the show.

The magic crystal ball made using some fabric from the pajamas of Harry Potter!

Casperetta magically appeared. She was a mischievous little ghostly girl.

Casperetta even wore a pink bow!

The pumpkin exploded! Always a crowd pleaser!

Little Learners' Halloween Parade

After watching Emma's parade, it was back to Little Learners to help with their Halloween party and watch the parade. When I walked in, all the kids were getting their costumes on and sitting on their stools singing songs. My cute little "Peanut Jelly and Sandwich" was actively participating in the sing-a-long!

Cute smiles peeking out from between the PB and apricot J!

Miss Julie leads the kids in fun Halloween songs.

After singing, it was time for rotations: bean bag toss...

Allison's buddy, Layla as a vampire.

...on to the cake walk...

...and finishing the festivities with some cupcakes. They needed some extra sugar before beginning their parade through the neighborhood!

They walked down the street a couple blocks to the other Little Learners campus. That campus is on a court, so all the kids circled the court a couple times for their parade route. They were so cute!

There's my little sammy!

Holding hands with Super Mario...I think!

Group photo with both campuses.

Allison loves her teacher, Miss Julie!

Now it's back to Emma's school for some Halloween science show magic...
