TLC's Halloween Parade

It was a crazy day! It started off with dropping Emma off at 8:00. Next, I dropped Allison off at 8:30. At that time, I called the dentist because the entire right side of her jaw became completely swollen the night before. She had complained that her tooth hurt when she ate, but we thought nothing of it until her face blew up like a puffer fish! Now Dr. Solomon doesn't work on Fridays, but the office called his cell phone and I waited for him to call me right back. He said she needed to be on antibiotics right away because she was so swollen and that he wanted to see her first thing Monday morning for fear she had an abscessed tooth (Luckily it turned out she didn't and the swelling was most likely caused by a scratch on her gums...crazy!). After I talked to Dr. Solomon, his office immediately called and left a message at the Safeway pharmacy for her antibiotics (they didn't open until 9:00 am). I waited until 9:00 and went in to the pharmacy to pick up the prescription. Then it was time to race over to school to watch the 9:30 parade.

I made it just in time to watch my beautiful "Taylor Swift from the Love Story video" begin marching in her parade. They walked on the blacktop, down the hall and out onto the field.

You may be thinking, "Where did she ever come up with this costume idea??" Thanks to Auntie Mo, the idea was planted early on and never left her mind. Good thing Auntie Mo was able to find the perfect dress at Marshall's, no less! It was almost an identical match to the one she wore on stage during the concert we saw back in April. The only difference was the real Taylor's was red and gold and my Taylor's was blue and gold! Auntie Amy gave her a tiara for being a flower girl in the wedding in July, so that piece completed the outfit!

Can you see her poor little swollen chin and cheek on the right side? The swelling even made it difficult for her to smile.

The outfit even included the lucky number 13 on her right hand. Taylor Swift always draws a big "13" on her right hand before every concert for good luck. Even the tiniest detail was not forgotten!

Lora, the Ice Witch from the North Pole, even made an appearance during the parade. She really scared me this year! I couldn't handle all those spiders! After the parade she did Halloween science shows for all the students in grades K-4...3 performances in all! That is a dedicated mom!

Frightening!
The Ice Witch's son, Camden, as a very spooky ghost.

Then there's me...my Halloween costume consisted of a black t-shirt and sweater.

My little Taylor Swift with her best friend, Sydney, as a beautiful fire fly.

Next, it was back to Allison's school to watch her parade...whew! Was it really only 10:15???
