Favorite New Outfit

The day after Emma's birthday celebration the night before, we had to run to the farmers' market to get our weekly fruit fill of strawberries, apricots, cherries and anything else that looked yummy. We were also using some of it for the fruit kabobs at the Hula Party later in the day. Emma was thrilled to wear her new sparkly pink outfit from Grandma Sue and Grandpa Rex that she got the night before. She matched perfectly from her sparkly toes to her sparkly head band!

Allison was a little sad that she didn't get to match Emma's sparkly outfit, so this was the only photo she let me take. That Crazy Brown Girl gets me every time!

Bath Time X 4!

After Emma's Hula Birthday Party, we headed over to Grandma Sue's house for dinner and bath time. The girls love to gather together to splash and to play. It was the perfect time for Grandma to get a new picture of all 4 of her bathing beauties in the tub! She has cute little frame next to the tub that is perfect for a bath time photo. It just needs some updating because Kiley isn't even in the photo by the tub!

It is never easy getting all four of them to look at the camera at the same time!

After tub time the girls gather in their cute Pottery Barn Kid personalized towels. Brynn and Allison's cute doggy match. Brynn never wants to use hers though. She prefers Emma's pink butterfly towel. Tonight I was able to convince Brynn that being twins with Allison would be really cool. She bought it and loved getting her picture taken with her "twin."

Cute little tushies in their towels!

Celebrating at School

Mrs. Walker poses with the birthday girl!

Now Mrs. Adams gets a turn...

Mrs. Magana shares birthday smiles with Emma. Mrs. Quintana was absent, so we missed a picture with her.

Every morning the school day begins with Unity. All the K-4 grade students surround the grassy quad to pledge the flag, listen to announcements, sing their classroom chants and honor any birthday kiddos! Today was Emma's turn to be honored! She waited eagerly in line to be called out...
When the birthday kiddos come out, they are given equations to take to another student of their choice. The equations all have the answer of the day of the month it is. In this case, the answers were all 28! For example, 14 x 2 = 28 or the square root of 100 + (2 x7) + (2 x 2) = 28. It is amazing the math these kids see every day!

Off she goes to deliver her equation...

She delivers it to her friend, Kaitlyn.

After all the equations have been shared, all the students sing Happy Birthday to the birthday kids!

Emma gets in a quick giggle with Kaitlyn. While at school, it's so cool to feel so special on your birthday!

Later on in the day I brought back donut holes for all 55 kids in her class. They got one plain and one chocolate covered one. I was able to talk her out of an entire donut...that's a lot for these kids to eat. This was the perfect size for them! Plus this choice was a bit more budget friendly!

Emma and her best friend, Sydney, share a donut hole together. Yum!

Emma is 7 Today!

Where have these past 7 years gone?! I can't believe my baby is now 7 years old! It seems like only yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital! Seven just feels so grown up. When Em turned 6 I didn't feel like she was that old. There is just something about 7!

7 Things I Love About You...in no particular order:

1. Whenever you start walking somewhere you have the cutest little hop in your first step
2. Your love and enthusiasm for dancing
3. You can be so kind and caring towards your sister...I love when you read stories to her
4. Your passion for purple...you love Relay For Life
5. You give the best hugs
6. You work very hard in school and are excelling in all areas
7. Your smile lights up a room!

Happy 7th Birthday Emma! We love you very much!!

Pete, our neighbor next door, took a quick family photo before I took Emma to school.

Flower Girls!

The girls are so excited to be in Uncle Tim and Auntie Amy's wedding. The day the dresses came in the mail they couldn't wait to try them on! The had to strike many poses so we just look at the dress from every angle!

First they stood together to show off the front and back view, but the Allison took it to another level...

"Take this side, Mommy!"

"And this side too!"

"I want a pit-ure wid Grandma Sue."

"Now it's Grandma Judy's turn."

"Do these shoes tap?" Allison had to take her shoes to the hardwood floor to check out their tapping abilities. I just wanted her to take them off because they were pretty snug (size 10) and I wanted to send them back without any scuffs! I thought Allison would do better with one size bigger and Emma would be better with one size smaller. Emma was swimming in her size 12 shoe.

A week later the new pairs of shoes arrived. Emma's new size 11 fit perfectly; Allison's size 10 are a tad too big and we'll have to stuff the toe with a bit of cotton!

They are going to look beautiful on July 10th! Can't wait!

Happy 7th Brithday Emma!

Time to celebrate at home! I wrapped all her gifts in the same pretty paper this year.

The gifts were sitting by the door when Em left for school in the morning. Crazy thing is is that she never once asked about them. She walked right by them and didn't say a peep! Now though, you can see she's ready to go!

Emma shares her birthday with someone very special...Grandma Judy! Here Darren, Emma and Allison sit with the other Birthday Girl while she opens her card.

A Target gift card, cute tote bag and Tinkerbell light up doll from Pete and Sherri.

Cute new outfit from Grandma Sue and Grandpa Rex. Love the matching shoes and headband too! Mom went back to Gap after their shopping spree because when they were there the first time Mom said there was nothing there for her. Yes, that is the case, there wasn't anything there because they were in the baby girls section. Emma is now in the big girl section!

Materials to make friendship bracelets from Grandma Judy and Grandpa Carl.

Emma was so kind to let Allison sit with her. Here she is opening the gift from Allison...a flamingo bathrobe!

Photo time with Uncle Tim, Auntie Amy and Darren.

Grandma Judy and Grandpa Carl's turn with the girls.

Pete and Sherri pose with the birthday girl too.

Now it's turn for a photo with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Rex.

Can't forget to take a picture with Mommy and Daddy too!

Allison can't be left out either!

Look at that delicious butter cream frosted cake Julie made! Yum-o! Love the beach themed decorations too.
The cake is so full of butter that Allison, Emma AND Darren need to help hold it up!

Cute flip flops (Emma's favorite shoe!) lined the outer edge of the cake.

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Emma, Happy Birthday to you!"

Make a wish!

Hugs are the best way to end a great birthday. Grandma Sue loves Emma hugs!

Happy Birthday Eve Emma!

Emma has been sooo excited for her birthday to come. She asks over and over about the number of days until she turns 7. She's down to counting the hours now. She even told Jeff as he left for work yesterday that it was the last time that he'd see her as a 6-year-old. Yes, my baby girl is turning 7 tomorrow. I just can't believe it. Six didn't seem too old, but there is something about 7 that sounds so old! Happy Birthday sweet baby girl! I love you to pieces!

As they were getting snuggled into my bed tonight (They love to sleep with me while Jeff is at work. I have to admit, I love having my girls so close because I know one day they won't want to sleep with me anymore...), I said, "Happy Birthday Eve!" They both got the giggles, so it was a photo opp that I couldn't pass up! Then they each wanted their "solo picture" taken...

Big 6-year-old smiles! Note the purple glove...we're still working on the thumb sucking at night. Getting better now :) Also, poor baby was bit by something last weekend that made her swell right between the eyes. There was a rather large bump there that has now shrunk in size a bit, but is now replaced by a scab from all the itching!

Allison didn't want to be left out either. "Take my picture too, Mommy!"
